About Our Pastor
The current pastor of Howse Baptist Church is Dr. Tony Latham. Dr. Latham
and his wife, Kathy, served for 25 years with the International Mission
Board, SBC. Twenty of those years were in the Philippines, where he was
involved in theological education, teaching at the Southern Philippines
Baptist Theological Seminary. The last years were in Kiev, Ukraine, where he
taught at the Kiev Theological Seminary.
Dr. Tony Latham
Prior to service with the IMB, they served with the Church Pastoral Aid program of the Home Mission Board (now,
NAMB) in Calvert County, Maryland, for four years. Dr. Latham is a native of
Jackson, Tennessee. He grew up attending Calvary Baptist Church. Kathy is a
native of Kosciusko, Mississippi, and grew up attending the First Baptist
Church, Kosciusko. Dr. Latham attended Union University and Southwestern
Baptist Theolgocial Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas, where he earned the MDiv
degree, the MA(RE) degree, and the Ph.D. degree. Dr. Latham also serves as
an adjunct professor in the Christian Studies Department at Union
University. Dr. and Mrs. Latham have two grown sons, Paul and John.
